My Canna Coach

Dedicated to giving you the knowledge to achieve YOUR best  possible relief

Hi, I’m Lee, and I am "My Canna Coach". I have been involved with cannabis at different levels for several years. And I’m here to be your personal “Canna Coach”. Believe me, I've been there. I am currently a Medical Card holder myself, and while I have been involved in cannabis forever, I still had to learn which products worked best for my medical issues. Now, I can take what I've learned and impart to you the knowledge and guidance to navigate the world of Medicinal Marijuana. I will teach you how to find the right Cannabis product to achieve the relief and affect you desire. Remember, I’m not a doctor or medical professional, but I am a Level 1 Professional Cannabis Interpener.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TERPENES

What Do Terpenes Do?

Terpenes are molecules that help give plants a particular taste or smell.  They are called aromatics. The reason lavender is known for having a soothing aroma is terpenes. These different terpenes are the reason certain marijuana strains have a citrusy or floral scent yet others have that famous “Diesel” scent. These scents help guide you towards the effect or relief that you are trying to achieve.

The power of terpenes goes beyond affecting just the nose and tongue, however. While it has always been assumed that cannabinoids were the power behind marijuana’s effects, terpenes play a large role, as well. Terpenes can bind with the same receptors in your Endocannabinoid system to create distinctly different effects. This makes understanding terpenes a particularly useful bit of cannabis information, as it means that client can better customize cannabis health benefits by knowing what terpenes they’re ingesting.

Given that marijuana terpenes differ from one strain to the next, this (in combination with cannabinoids) is why one strain can be stimulating while another may cause a heavy feeling of drowsiness and relaxation. However, it is also the reason that some strains may cause anxiety or paranoia. This is another important reason to recognize and understand terpenes, so these strains may be avoided.

Researchers believe that the combination of cannabinoids and terpenes may be responsible for marijuana’s entourage effect, a phenomenon in which its ingredients work differently (and often better) when consumed together rather than individually. For consumers interested in hemp-derived cannabinoids like CBD, there are hemp terpenes, as well.
